How Can I Cope as a Freelancer?
Your health and well-being are the most important resources that you have. This includes your mental health.
Coping With Mental Health Breakdowns as a Freelancer
If you find yourself experiencing any of the symptoms above, try some of these coping mechanisms:
Take a Vacation
This may seem like a more stressful option due to finances & ability to travel, but you don’t have to go far to take a break! Step away from your computer, phone, tablet, or emails & just take a deep breath. Think about what you would rather be doing for the day, and do that!
See a Therapist
Having a trusted & confidential resource to talk to about your frustrations, concerns & emotions, may create an environment of relaxation and support that you may be missing in your business.
Who Supports You?
Taking a good look at your support system, who you surround yourself with, and how you spend your free time, may lead to some realizations that you aren’t spending your time with the right people, or in the right places. Find those people who support you in your endeavors, and spend time with them. Support them in their endeavors too! Taking the focus off of your own business concerns for a little while can help increase productivity, create new insights, and give your brain a break when it needs one!
